Non-Standard Mud Ride Sometime?

The place to announce the standard club ride. This will usally be early on a Saturday morning on road bikes and will be around 35 miles or so. There will often be a hill or two.

Non-Standard Mud Ride Sometime?

Post by HiFry23 » Thu Nov 01, 2018 8:47 am

A few people have expressed an interest in a mud mtb ride - I was thinking sometime in November as the weather gets colder, and maybe too damp for a Saturday road ride.

It will be a taster session (hopefully not of mud...) and we will make it more flowy trails rather than hard-core downhill, but I'm sure we'll sample some roll-overs that people can walk round as required. It'll be frisky but doable for all. A bit of tuition thrown in and Malc, Geoff, Steve and co have offered their support and spare bikes - all will be pretty top kit.

Maybe we'll bring along a few off road e-bikes to try too. I'm sure we'll have spare shoes etc, and can go flat pedal swaps if need be.

Let me know interest for a late November Saturday morning for a couple of hours riding plus there and back (North Surrey Hills probably).

Sounds good Chris, especially if you'll be over my way!

I'll be happy as long as the bike stays in contact with the ground.

I’m up for this Chris, really enjoyed it last time up to the point where Mike the bike smashed his elbow into 14 pieces and after 4 years of trying to get that image out of my head I think I’m ready to go again.
Will need to borrow a bike, hope that’s okay, and I’m not available Nov 10th or 17th.

Can be done on a hardtail - but not the most comfortable of experiences, so we can get some full-sussers where people want to have a go. You'll enjoy in more (and go faster). C

Saturday morning 24th November is the best date. Meet at the usual spot (in cars - I can take 3-4) at 7.15 or at Leatherhead Leisure Centre carpark (at the back as far as you can go - right hand corner). More details to follow once I have numbers. C

I'll be there to lend assistance. Looking forward to it.

Barry, you were a legend on that fateful ride - I remember.
