Saturday 15 th September "Bacon sandwich revenge"
It's my turn to lead. As you know, it's my first time and surely not even Garmin again confuse me. Special thanks to Barry (and Nick) for helping me plan the route. I will try to publish it as soon as possible so that it can load the route to our Garmin.
Special attention to the Whitedown Lane hill. (Also known from now as bacon sandwich hill)
6:30 am start - usual place of course - for a mixed flat and hills course for about 80-90 miles.
Breakfast in The Hothouse Cafe.
Let me know if you're coming so we know to wait.

Re: Saturday 15 th September "Bacon sandwich revenge"
I was up for a long ride, but when Barry relayed to me the instructions for route plotting of "include as many hills as possible and finish with White Down" I've started to have doubts.
I should be there.....
I should be there.....

The idea is to simulate climbs and long distance as in Mallorca. It is a training for men without fear
Re: Saturday 15 th September "Bacon sandwich revenge"
I'm in the process of compiling our Mallorca routes just now. Be careful what you wish for

Re: Saturday 15 th September "Bacon sandwich revenge"
I'm trying to limit myself to 60-70/day max. So might do a part ride, but don't wait. C

Sounds intriguing!
I think my bike is too heavy for many hills
I should be out but need to be back by 11.30 so might need to peel off early.

Sounds good.
I have family commitments so also need to be back around 1130 latest, happy to peel off and find my way back and happy to help you (David M) get back to Surbiton without getting lost as well
Chris this could work for you?

Re: Saturday 15 th September "Bacon sandwich revenge"
At David's request, suggested route as below. 25 miles of flat warm up followed by most of the nasty hills the North Downs can muster. 70 miles all in. Garmin reckons 3,800ft of climbing but I think that's an under estimate. Plenty of opportunity to head back early for those that have to from Newlands, Peaslake or Holmbury. Don't shoot the messenger!!
